1. Bill Gates Predicts: AI Will Replace Doctors And Tutors Within A Decade04:32[-/+]
Категория(?)  Автор(?)

Bill Gates has been vocal about the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on various industries, predicting that AI will eventually replace humans in most tasks. While acknowledging that some roles will remain essential, he believes AI advancements will significantly disrupt professions such as healthcare and education.

In a recent interview on NBC’s The Tonight Show, Gates stated that AI could replace doctors and teachers within the next ten years. He emphasized that while AI is not yet advanced enough to fully substitute professionals, rapid progress in the field suggests that high-quality medical advice and tutoring will soon become widely accessible and potentially free. He refers to this transformation as the dawn of a “free intelligence” era, where AI-powered tools will revolutionize key sectors, making expert-level services available to more people than ever before.

Gates envisions AI improving healthcare by providing faster and more accurate diagnoses, potentially reducing reliance on human doctors. AI-powered virtual assistants could analyze symptoms, recommend treatments, and even monitor chronic conditions with greater efficiency. Similarly, AI tutors could enhance education by offering personalized learning experiences, adapting to students’ needs, and making high-quality teaching universally accessible.

bill gates surface

AI could replace doctors and teachers within the next ten years, says Bill Gates.

Despite these predictions, Gates acknowledges that some professions will resist full automation. He believes that energy experts, biologists, and coders will continue to play essential roles, as their fields involve complexities that AI cannot easily navigate. While AI can assist in coding, human programmers remain crucial for debugging and understanding the broader context of software development.

Gates’ claims have sparked intense debate about the future of work. Critics argue that AI will primarily serve as an assistant rather than fully replacing professionals. For example, experienced software engineers point out that AI lacks the deep contextual understanding required for complex problem-solving. Similarly, many believe that while AI can enhance medical diagnostics, human doctors are irreplaceable for critical decision-making, empathy, and patient interactions.

Ultimately, Gates’ predictions highlight both the opportunities and challenges posed by AI. While automation could make expert services more accessible, the question remains: will AI replace professionals entirely, or will it simply change the way they work? As AI technology evolves, industries must find a balance between leveraging AI’s capabilities and preserving the irreplaceable value of human expertise.

Additionally, the glasses introduce a second-generation quick-release mechanism, featuring a 70% smaller hinge design, allowing users to swap lenses single-handedly. The glasses are available in five styles: metal aviator, hybrid browline, classic Boston, hybrid aviator, and deep-space titanium, catering to different fashion preferences.

Audio performance has also been significantly improved. The new acoustic structure enhances sound quality, providing better volume and noise reduction. A four-microphone array, supported by intelligent algorithms, ensures clearer calls. Furthermore, Xiaomi has introduced a privacy mode that reduces sound leakage through a combination of inverse sound waves and anti-leakage membranes. This feature can be activated via the Mijia Glasses app.

A notable functionality is the one-touch recording feature, activated by pressing the temple of the glasses. This allows users to take instant voice notes without needing their phone. To address privacy concerns, a notification light automatically turns on whenever recording is active. Other smart features include voice assistant support, real-time audio broadcasting, and IP54-rated dust and water resistance for durability.

The battery life has been optimized to support extended usage. The glasses offer up to 12 hours of music playback, 9 hours of talk time, and an impressive 12-day standby duration. Xiaomi has also introduced 2C magnetic charging technology, enabling a full charge in just one hour, while a quick 10-minute charge provides four hours of listening time, ensuring convenience for users on the go.

7. Future Apple Watch May Feature Built-In Camera For AI-Powered Visual IntelligenceПн, 24 мар[-/+]
Категория(?)  Автор(?)

Apple is reportedly working on integrating cameras into future Apple Watch models as part of its broader push into artificial intelligence (AI), according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This development aligns with Apple’s efforts to enhance its Visual Intelligence technology, which the company also plans to bring to AirPods. By incorporating cameras, Apple aims to enable its devices to “see the outside world,” enhancing their AI-driven capabilities.

Currently, Apple’s Visual Intelligence technology heavily relies on AI models from OpenAI and Google. However, the company intends to develop its own AI models to reduce dependence on external providers. Apple envisions Visual Intelligence as a core feature across its future product lineup, allowing its devices to process and interpret visual information independently. This shift toward proprietary AI models is part of Apple’s broader strategy to strengthen its ecosystem and ensure tighter integration between hardware and software.

Apple Watch

Regarding the Apple Watch, Gurman reports that both standard and Ultra models could incorporate cameras. For the standard Apple Watch, the camera may be embedded within the display, similar to the iPhone. However, it remains uncertain whether Apple will use under-display camera technology or a visible camera cutout.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra may feature a camera positioned on the side of the device, near the digital crown and side button. This placement is likely due to the Ultra’s larger size, which provides more space for hardware integration. Additionally, it would allow users to conveniently point their wrists at objects for scanning and visual input.

Apple’s plans for these camera-equipped devices are still in development, and the Apple Watch with a camera is not expected to launch until at least 2027. This timeline aligns with the rumored release of AirPods with cameras, indicating a coordinated effort to advance Apple’s AI-driven wearable technology. However, the success of these innovations depends on the progress of Apple’s AI teams, which have recently undergone leadership changes.

If implemented successfully, these advancements could significantly enhance Apple’s wearable ecosystem, introducing new functionalities such as real-time object recognition, enhanced accessibility features, and improved user interactions. 16. AI Is Changing Tech Hiring: Remote Interviews At RiskСб, 15 мар[-/+]
Категория(?)  Автор(?)

AI is transforming the world as we know it, reshaping industries, streamlining tasks, and integrating seamlessly into our daily lives. From entertainment to work, we constantly encounter AI-powered tools—whether it’s recommendation algorithms suggesting our next movie or advanced automation optimizing workflows in professional environments.

We recently stumbled upon an eye-opening article that highlights one of the more controversial ways AI is impacting the job market—its growing role in tech hiring. The rise of remote work has opened new opportunities for AI-assisted cheating in coding interviews, leading major companies like Amazon, Meta, and Google to rethink their hiring strategies.

Some candidates are secretly using AI assistants during job interviews. (Image: Dall-e)

AI is significantly disrupting tech hiring, as candidates increasingly use artificial intelligence tools to cheat in remote coding interviews. Traditionally, candidates were required to solve algorithmic problems on whiteboards during in-person assessments. However, the rise of remote interviews has made it easier for applicants to use AI-powered tools off-camera to generate code, refine solutions, and provide detailed explanations in real time. This growing trend is causing concern among employers, with companies like Google now considering a return to in-person interviews to ensure fair hiring practices.

Recruiters have reported a surge in AI-assisted cheating, making it difficult to distinguish between genuinely skilled candidates and those relying on external assistance. Some common signs include perfect solutions without explanation, long pauses followed by flawless responses, and candidates struggling when problems are slightly modified.

This has led to increased distrust in the hiring process, with competent applicants facing rejection due to the difficulty in verifying authenticity. To address this issue, some suggest developing better detection tools, asking deeper follow-up questions, and improving interviewer training rather than abandoning remote interviews altogether.

AI-powered interview assistance tools are being created enabling young entrepreneurs to make good money.

The cheating trend has also given rise to a growing market for AI-powered interview assistance. Entrepreneurs like 21-year-old Chungin Lee are capitalizing on this shift by developing tools that help candidates bypass traditional coding assessments. Lee, who previously secured and later lost offers from Meta, Amazon, and TikTok, expects his business to reach $1 million in annual revenue by mid-May. He argues that tech companies should modernize their hiring processes rather than penalize candidates for using AI, especially when those same companies promote AI advancements.

Similarly, Columbia University student Roy Lee developed an AI tool capable of solving Amazon’s live coding challenges in real time, securing internship offers from top tech firms. His public demonstration of the tool on YouTube sparked widespread debate. While critics condemned his actions as dishonest, supporters argued that his stunt exposed deeper flaws in the hiring process. Many believe that standardized coding interviews, often based on memorizing algorithmic solutions from platforms like LeetCode, fail to assess real engineering competency and creativity.

This controversy raises a key ethical question: Is it wrong for candidates to use AI to optimize their performance in a system that itself prioritizes rote memorization? Critics argue that AI-assisted cheating undermines trust in hiring, while proponents claim that it highlights an outdated system in need of reform. As AI continues to evolve, tech companies must decide whether to enforce traditional hiring methods or rethink their approach to evaluating talent in an AI-driven world.

25. Xiaomi Unveils Modular Micro Four Thirds Camera System For SmartphonesСр, 05 мар[-/+]
Категория(?)  Автор(?)

Xiaomi has introduced a cool concept at MWC 2025: the Xiaomi Optical Modular System, a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) camera and lens combination that magnetically attaches to the back of a prototype Xiaomi 15 smartphone. This innovative system features a 100MP MFT sensor, dubbed the Light Fusion X, which is larger than the 1-inch sensor found in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The MFT sensor, with a 2x crop factor (compared to the 2.7x crop of 1-inch sensors), offers superior light-gathering capabilities and depth of field, rivaling sensors used in high-end mirrorless cameras from brands like Olympus and Panasonic.

The modular system, which resembles realme’s interchangeable lens concept, includes a compact 35mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4, a 6G aspherical lens assembly, and a close focus distance of 20cm. It supports both autofocus and manual focus, along with face recognition. The lens is powered via pogo pins and a magnetic ring mount, similar to Apple’s MagSafe, eliminating the need for an additional battery.

Data transfer between the lens and phone is facilitated by Xiaomi’s Laserlink Communication, which uses a near-infrared laser to transmit raw image data for processing via Xiaomi’s computational photography system.

The design is sleek and premium, with a smooth focus ring and a Leica-like aesthetic, though Xiaomi has not confirmed any collaboration with its usual lens partners. The lens integrates seamlessly with the phone’s Pro mode, offering a dedicated user interface. Despite its polished appearance, Xiaomi has not disclosed whether this concept will reach the market or its potential price. The prototype uses a custom Xiaomi 15, not the commercially available model.

Similar concepts, such as Sony’s QX-10 and QX-100 for Xperia phones and the Alice Camera for iPhones, have been attempted before but with limited success. Xiaomi’s system, however, appears more refined and sophisticated, positioning it as a promising advancement in mobile photography.

But Xiaomi’s system has some drawbacks, one of the main ones being compatibility. While the Sony QX10 and QX100 were “universal”, meaning users could attach them to virtually any smartphone, Xiaomi’s module, in contrast, is limited to specific phones, therefore, restricting its potential adoption and limiting market penetration, since users that don’t have Xiaomi phones will not be able to use it.

Xiaomi’s Modular Optical System advances modular smartphone photography by addressing past challenges like connectivity and sensor limitations. While its current compatibility is limited to a custom Xiaomi 15 prototype, expanding support could make it a game-changer.

Though its future remains uncertain, Xiaomi’s refined approach represents a promising step forward in mobile imaging innovation. If priced competitively, it could appeal to photography enthusiasts seeking professional-grade capabilities in a smartphone-compatible format.
